| Imbécil is Alku's sideproject for useless, obfuscated, surreal computing and data cooking. It started around 2002 as a website where about 20 artists, friends, programmers and musicians were invited to contribute their own idea on "Imbécil computing". Then it became an Alku release as a CD-ROM and in 2004 it transformed itself into an RSS feed about more or less the same old thing: surreal things -both analogue and digital. Alku/Imbécil's 2005 adventure in data transformation is foofoofoo, a GNU/GPL'd script to render chopped-up snapshots of any user's mp3 collection. Foofoofoo is both the software and the audio repository in the project's website, where users are encouraged to send their results. www.imbecil.net |
